Welcome to Les' Tips and Tricks page. I'll be adding new content here as time permits. For the time being I'll put up a document that contains a list of system commands with the most common options that you would use with them. This is a great list for the beginning and/or advanced user to keep handy next to his/her Linux computer. It's been a while since I've added to it, but keep an eye out for new revisions coming shortly.

Query System Info via Command Line   This document is formatted for printing with enscript. Most distros should include it, if you don't have it, I would recommend downloading and installing it. To print the doc; download it to your system, and use the following command: "enscript -2Br system_info" It's printable using your favorite document viewer or lpr, but the formatting may be slightly off...

Hardening SSH   SSH by default is secure. Even so, there are a few configuration changes we can make to make it even more secure. Open the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file with your favorite editor, and read on...
